Before and After- Dress for Halie

I was given this dress while pregnant with my ladybug ( 2 month old) by a family friend(thanks Brandy) . Now that I'm not pregnant anymore it is really too big. We like the print so I decided to make a dress for Halie.

My kid's are not for petting!!

What makes people think that they can pet you kids. Twice while at the store strange women walked up to me and the kids and decided to pet them. The baby was in her sling and Halie(9 yr old) was walking next to the cart. Halie look at the lady like she was nuts. Then while in the check out another women decided to pet Halie on her head and then the lady had the nerve to ask if she could hold the baby. Uh No! I don't think so. Once again my message is this, my kids are not animals in a petting zoo, they do not need , nor like to be pet. But careful they might bit. Thanks for visiting.

I like comments, really don't be scared.

Knot Bag

Itty bitty knot bag

I saw a picture of these knot bags on another site and thought they were very cute little bags. So my daughter and I decided we wanted to make one. she helped a lot, she cut out the fabric and sewed the liner. The site has a template which made it easier( Look under link in the right column). Once again I did not want to buy fabric until I knew what I was doing.( I'm cheap) We decided to use my favorite fabric( right now anyways) the owl fabric in the left column, and lime green that I had. I bag was easy to make, but I added a little pocket and the next one I make is going to have a square bottom. It is not perfect but for the first one it's okay. I we had fun making it.

Sooo.. cute

Baby Sling

Have you ever priced a designer baby sling. They are way to expensive I found them online from $40-$70 . That’s crazy, and I wouldn’t and couldn’t spend that much money on a sling. So I decided to make one. I hate buying patterns (I’m cheap, lol) so I searched on line for free patterns I found one that I really like. The link under links.. I used this pattern just to see how the sling is constructed and how much fabric, but I changed my pattern to suit me. I made mine wider at the base (where the baby sits) and thinner at the top (the part that goes over the shoulder). The first one I made was okay, but I made it out of fabric I had at home, I wasn’t spending money on fabric till I knew what I was doing. The second one was even better; I bought fabric (the ladybug print in the side column). I thought it would be hard to wear or hurt my back but nope, it is comfortable and cute. It is also a lot easier to move around a store with her in a sling, rather than a stroller. Half the time the stroller doesn’t fit between things. (Pic's of sling coming soon). Thanks for visiting.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog, I'm new here but I think we are going to get along just fine. I decide to write this blog to brag about my life, it is wonderful & I also wanted a place to show off my creativity. You never know it might give you an idea or two. I love to craft, sew, scrapbook, paint( basically I enjoy all crafts). And I do all my crafting on a budget, why buy something if I can make it cheaper and make it customized. I like one of a kinds! Well tata for now, hope to see you back again sometime soon. Thanks for visiting.
